Invented in 1996 by Romanian gymnast Gina Gogean, this jump is now a pillar of the code of points—performed with a half-twist, one-and-a-half twist, and even with the switch ring variation. Paradoxically, it is also one of the most demanding artistic elements for now, combining physical, artistic, and coordination challenges.
This training program breaks down the Gogean into several phases for a structured teaching approach: a full technical analysis, essential physical and technical prerequisites, followed by a progressive training circuit on the floor, supplemented by strengthening exercises in controlled settings—at the ballet bar and on the fast track.
