We recently posted a training guide to the open dive roll (swallow dive) on floor. In this new training, we'll be concentrating on the evolution of this skill by exploring the ins and outs of the straight front salto.
Whether you see it as an end goal, or as a step toward front twists or salto combinations, the straight front is an essential front tumbling skill.
We usually teach it to younger gymnasts during training sessions on vault since it functions as a prerequisite for front handspring vaults.
In this training, we'll take a look at technique, as well as different variants for different objectives. We'll analyze the different prerequisites and spotting techniques. You'll discover the necessary drills, as well as the specific physical preparation needed.
